- Yaz Tablet is indeed a combination of hormonal contraceptives that contains drospirenone and ethinylestradiol commonly known as a birth control pill. These hormones work in several ways to prevent pregnancy and provide other health benefits. One of the primary mechanisms of action is to suppress ovulation, which means it inhibits the release of an egg from the ovary. Without the release of an egg, fertilization cannot occur. Yaz Tablet also thickens cervical mucus, making it more difficult for sperm to swim through the cervix and reach the egg. This reduces the chances of fertilization. The synthetic estrogen, Ethinyl Estradiol, helps regulate the menstrual cycle. It can make periods more regular and predictable. This can be helpful for individuals who experience irregular or heavy menstrual bleeding. Yaz Tablet may also be prescribed to alleviate symptoms of premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD), which is a severe form of premenstrual syndrome (PMS). It can help manage emotional and physical symptoms associated with PMDD. In some cases, Yaz Tablet is prescribed to manage moderate acne. The hormonal components in the medication can improve skin conditions and help reduce acne breakouts. There is a potential benefit in reducing the risk of developing ovarian cysts while using birth control pills, including Yaz Tablet. Ovarian cysts are fluid-filled sacs that can sometimes cause pain or discomfort. Additionally, Yaz Tablet should be taken as prescribed by a healthcare provider, as consistency and proper use are essential for its effectiveness.

- Direction for use: It is very important that you use this medication exactly as directed by your Pharmacist or Doctor only.
- Take one pink tablet every day starting on the first day of your menstrual cycle or as directed by your Healthcare Professional for 24 consecutive days. Then take one white tablet every day for 4 days when you should have a withdrawal bleed like a period. This bleed may not have finished when it is time to start your next strip of pills if directed by your Doctor. Swallow it as a whole with water; do not crush, break or chew it.
- WARNINGS & CAUTIONS: Caution has also been advised for people who smoke, ever had blood clots, heart attack, stroke, clotting disorders, heart valve issues, liver, kidney and adrenal disease, breast cancer, pregnancy and breastfeeding. Like all medicines, this medicine may cause common side effects, although not everybody gets them generally. You may suffer from nausea, vomiting, headache, bloating, breast tenderness, swelling of the ankles/feet (fluid retention), or weight change may occur.
- Speak to your Doctor immediately if you experience serious side effects especially leg cramps and swelling due to blood clots, severe stomach pain, sharp chest pain, rapid breathing, bluurring of vision, numbness of face, blue discoloration of extremities or symptoms not listed here.
- If you miss two periods in a row, call your doctor for a pregnancy test before you take any more pills.
- Do not take Yaz in larger or smaller amounts or for longer than recommended. The medicine may be prescribed for symptoms not listed here. Discuss all the medications you take with your Doctor.
- Store at room temperature, 15°C to 25°C (59°F to 77°F) in its original package. Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children.
