- Novaclear Atopis Ultra Body Moisturizer Lotion For Dry, Atopic & Sensitive Skin is formulated with Urea (hydrating properties) and Allantoin (anti-inflammatory properties). The unique combination of organic hemp oil and licorice root extract rebuilds the natural hydrolipid barrier of the epidermis while strengthening its natural ability to regenerate and protect. Urea can be used on the body and is particularly helpful in softening and moisturizing thick, rough or callused skin found on the feet, knees and elbows. Urea locks the moisture into the skin. Urea is a component of the natural moisturizing factor (NMF) produced by the skin. Urea is a humectant, which means it is able to absorb moisture from the environment and draw it to the skin. In addition, urea is also an emollient that softens and smooths the skin. Urea helps to improve the appearance of patches of dry, rough, scaly skin in two ways: by providing hydration to smooth your skin's texture, and by helping to reduce the buildup of dead skin cells. Allantoin has been shown to enhance the water content of the skin. That makes it a natural humectant and useful addition to any hydrating skin care product.
