Salicylic acid is a multifunctional beta-hydroxy acid (BHA) exfoliant; unclog pores, anti-irritant, and anti-inflammatory; proven to treat oily and problematic skin conditions. The ability of salicylic acid to exfoliate the stratum corneum makes it a good agent for peeling.
