- Ferrofol Spansule Capsule release most of the iron in the upper small intestine where absorption is greatest and not in the stomach where gastric irritation may occur. Ferrofol is formulated only for adults who suffer from iron-deficiency anemia, also during pregnancy when women need higher dose of iron because of dietary or other factors.
