- Mission Cholesterol Monitoring System is 3-in-1 combo test device for a complete lipid panel using whole blood, serum or plasma. It detects five parameters like Total cholesterol (CHOL), High density lipoprotein (HDL), Trigycerides (TRIG), calculated Low density lipoprotein (LDL), Cholesterol / High density lipoprotein ratio (CHOL/HDL) as well as Cardiac risk assessment. It contains one meter, 4 batteries, 2 control devices and user manual. To perform a cholesterol or lipid test, you will need a pack of test strips which includes a respective chip code, capillary transfer tubes and safety lancets in the kit which are simply inserted into this measuring device and comes into contact with a small drop of blood from your finger. After a few moments you get a precise test result for the laboratory. Total Cholesterol is the total amount of cholesterol in blood. HDL (Good) Cholesterol reduces the risk of cardiovascular disease (CVD) by carrying LDL away from the blood stream for disposal. LDL (Bad) Cholesterol contributes to the buildup of plaque (a thick, hard deposit that can clog arteries) increasing the risk of heart attack and stroke. Triglycerides is the most common type of fat in the body. CHOL/HDL ratio predicts your risk of developing Cardio Vascular Disease, a higher ratio indicates a higher risk of CVD and evaluates 10 year risk of developing CVD. The measurement ranges of Total Cholesterol (CHOL) range is 100-500 mg/dL (2.59-12.93 mmol/L), High-Density Lipoprotein (HDL) is 15-100 mg/dL (0.39-2.59 mmol/L), Triglycerides (TRIG) is 45-650 mg/dL (0.51-7.34 mmol/L). It has a 3 simple step usage: insert strip, apply sample with a capillary transfer tube, read results.

- Make sure that the patient's hand is warm and relaxed before collecting the capillary blood specimen
- Wash the hand in warm water for a couple of minutes to improve blood circulation and remove any lotion or cream if necessary massage the finger with a downward motion several times before performing the finger stick.
- Lower the hand to below the heart level when collecting blood
- Clean the testing site with an alcohol swab then air dry the testing site thoroughly puncture the side of the middle or ring finger for easier sampling
- Hold the safety lancet and carefully rotate and pull off the protective cap press the lancet against the puncture side tightly to lance the skin discard the lancet in an appropriate sharps container to obtain a sufficient blood drop
- Gently squeeze and massage the finger in a one second interval until a full drop forms do not excessively squeeze the finger for cholesterol testing
- Wipe away the first drop of blood with gauze and generate a second drop the mission capillary transfer tube helps to draw the correct amount of blood the transfer tube also makes it easier to apply the blood sample to the test strip squeezing the bulb hold the capillary transfer tube horizontally and use the tip of the tube to touch the blood drop blood will flow automatically into the tube by capillary action fill the tube past the black line indicator if not enough blood is generated from the drop repeat previous steps by gently squeezing the finger until another drop of blood forms.
- If an air bubble is seen inside the transfer tube perform another finger stick and repeat the previous steps do not attempt to aspirate the sample by squeezing the bulb once the sample fills past the black line indicator on the transfer tube squeeze the bulb to expel the sample onto a test strip or cartridge
- Collect capillary blood of 35 microliters for the three-in-one lipid panel test using a capillary transfer.
- Discard the transfer tube in an appropriate manner.
- Turn on the meter to insert a test device, open the canister or tear open the pouch to remove one test device and firmly insert the test device into the device channel in the same direction
- The blood drop symbol will flash when the meter is ready for the specimen to be applied.
- The meter will begin testing automatically with three dashes in a line flashing on the display indicating the test is in progress results will be displayed in 45 to 120 seconds
